The village hall is primarily for use by Islanders and leased to visitors from the mainland to help cover our annual running costs. Our new user-friendly building is accessible from street level by wheelchair or electric buggy. Once inside there are no internal sills and there is a buggy accessible lavatory which includes a baby changing table and shower. As well as the main hall that can accommodate up to 200 guests there are two smaller anterooms for more intimate gatherings. One room can be setup for formal meetings of groups of 16-plus and the second room provides a more intimate gathering place with sofa seating of around 12 persons. The main hall has seating for 180.

The Hall sits comfortably in an elevated position at the heart of the village.
As regular visitors will know, local car parking is restricted and limited to short-term 'drop-off' although there is a spacious public car park just along the road.
The Church, Pubs and Museum are close by as are the village shops and several Cafés.
The building is entered via the Foyer which comprises a small gathering area with some seating a refreshment/bar counter.
Leading from this entrance hall is the entrance to the main hall and corrider proving access to two anterooms as well as toilets.
The Hall is suitable for Family Celebrations, Dancing, Musical Events, Children's & Adult Parties, Keep fit, Amateur-dramatics, Rehearsal rooms, Lectures and meetings,
Field Study base, Public Gatherings, Charity Events, etc.. In particular for conferences open link Wi-Fi is fitted - recently a seminar was streamed from the hall with
participants from Japan and the USA received unbroken coverage)
The hall can accommodate up to 200 persons reducing to around 160 guests with table-seating for parties with three-course-plate place settings.
Our modern kitchen has two hobs and two ovens, a microwave, a built in boiler and commercial 2 minute cycle dish washer, coffee maker, fridge and two portable hot water boilers.
The small bar is unlicensed although bar & food facilities might be sought through local Island businesses - subject to requirements and other business commitments.
Of course there are those who may not wish to utilise the kitchen in which case all manner of refreshment from Pie & Peas to a Hog Roast or a full Wedding Breakfast can be sourced locally in North Northumberland.
Other facilities in the hall include table tennis, mini-badminton, volley ball, two static upright bicycles and a treadmill.
The building is available for long and/or short term let depending on local requirements.
The Hall is primarily for use by the local community, but it is available for use by off-island individuals or organisations. Occasional commercial activities are accepted.
Minimum hire is from one hour to multiple(s) of days. Letting fees are reviewed annually by the Trustees and those fees contribute to the annual running costs that include Insurance, Heating & Lighting, Caretaking, Waste Disposal and minor repairs.
