A large farm house of Elizabethan age (1568) with the feel of a family home. Spacious lounge
with Inglenook fireplace. Ideally suited for Retreats with private Chapel in basement.

Accommodation Accommodation at The Open Gate now includes 2 twin and one double room with en-suite facilities on the first floor plus one bed-sit with en-suite, kitchenette and a double bed, and two small single rooms on the top floor
which share a bathroom. 
Facilities Located in the centre of the village near the Priory ruins and Castle 'The Open Gate' is ideal for quiet breaks to enjoy the spirit of the Island. Run by members and friends of the 'Community of Aidan and Hilda'. (Rev Ray Simpson (founder & author) and Rev Graham Booth (editor of the Aidan Press) are the main leaders.)

Open Gate Charges The Community of Aidan and Hilda and Lindisfarne Trust, have among their values hospitality and encouraging every person on their spiritual journey. The table below shows the actual cost of each room for B&B. We would be delighted if you can meet the cost of your stay here. However we would not want to turn anyone away for reasons of costs, so if, for whatever reason, you are unable to meet that cost please pay what you can. If you feel able to contribute more than the basic cost it will help others to benefit from the ministry of the house and the island.
