THE VISION

A Vision for Lindisfarne: The Holy Island of Lindisfarne Christians such as the Irish Aidan and the Saxon Cuthbert brought to England and Scotland a gentle, radiant faith and a deep love for God, the people and creation. They led a life of constant prayer, characterised by works of mercy and miracle.

Today, at a turning point in world culture, the spirituality of these Celtic saints offers a non-hierarchical and unthreatening way of being a people-friendly church that connects with the earth and its peoples, that has roots and rhythm, and that is bathed in the supernatural Presence of the God who is Three Persons.

Christians on the island from different churches and networks share a vision of Holy Island being a place of hospitality, prayer and pilgrimage which enables people to make these connections for themselves without taking short cuts.

Lindisfarne Mustard Seed Project is committed to serve this vision.
