Religious Retreat
There are two centres who provide for those seeking a retreat experience either for groups or private individuls. To view this years schedule of events click on the following link.

Lindisfarne Gospels
The 'Lindisfarne Gospels' were written on Holy Island and is now held by the British Library. The library presented a rare facsimile of the gospels to the community together with the interactive, electronic 'turning page' version.
These can be seen at the 'Lindisfarne Centre' together with other exciting interactives - these include the new 793ad Viking exhibition. Follow the gospel link for further information...
Guided walks on Holy Island
Holy Island is a nature reserve of international importance for its bird and plant life. It also has a rich history being the "cradle of Christianity" for pagan Northumbria. There is always something interesting to see here and these walks, led by an experienced local guide, will introduce you to the many facets of life on Holy Island.

For more information please contact the walk leader, Mary Gunn, on maryholyisland@aol.com or click the logo for a copy of the 2008 schedule.

Tours of Discovery for Birdwatchers
Holy Island is noted for the wide range of birds occuring here. Particularly during the migratory seasons, these can include the occasional very rare species. The following link is provided for those wishing to join a 'tour of discovery' - both on and off the island.

The Fenton Centre
Those visiting during the Summer months will often see the displays of wild birds brought across from the 'Fenton Centre' in nearby Wooler. The centre also hosts a range of events including fairs and demonstrations of modern and traditional crafts. Click on the link to see whats on this year.
